Denver Broncos release kicker Brandon McManus, last member of Super Bowl 50 team
The Denver Broncos have moved on from the last member of the team’s Super Bowl 50 championship roster.
As players reported for the start of organized team activities (OTAs) on Tuesday, the Broncos released kicker Brandon McManus as first reported by ESPN’s Adam Schefter.
McManus has been the Broncos longest-tenured player entering 2023, but will now be playing for a new team this upcoming season.
During the Broncos’ Super Bowl 50 run, McManus was instrumental in the team’s post-season success by going 10-10 on field goal attempts.
After eight seasons with the team, he and the team are moving on.
Broncos general manager George Paton came out and thanked McManus for his time in Denver.
“Brandon has been a key player and presence with the Broncos for nearly a decade, making outstanding contributions to our team and community,” Paton said in a press release.
